Jonesboro is a regional center for healthcare, shopping, jobs and education. People from throughout Northeast Arkansas and the surrounding region come to Jonesboro every day and use the city's infrastructure and emergency services while they are here.
Because this is a sales tax, visitors making taxable purchases in Jonesboro can contribute to the public-safety services available while they are here.
